British Cycling is the internationally recognised governing body for cycling in the UK. It is also one of the leading governing bodies across all sport in the UK, with over 125,000 members who have access to a calendar of well over 4,000 events spread across 6 cycle sport disciplines. We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, appropriately qualified individual to join us as a Regional Events Officer for the Yorkshire Region.The Role
This is an exciting regionally-based position, forming part of an established team, playing a key role in developing the Cycle Sport Events programme in the Yorkshire Region and across the country.We require a highly motivated individual to work as part of this team to manage and co-ordinate the planning and implementation of a Cycle Sport Events programme within the Yorkshire Region and Inter-Regionally.The focus of the Regional Events Officer role is to increase the quantity and quality of participation opportunities across a range of Cycle Sport disciplines resulting in increased participation and satisfaction levels among participants, volunteers and officials. The Regional Events Officer is also responsible for seeking out and influencing new opportunities to create more events and participation opportunities within the Yorkshire region.The Cycle Sport Events programme is at the heart of British Cycling and these posts will help us transform the future landscape of the sport.

Interested?
You will need to demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of competitive and non-competitive cycling across all disciplines with the ability and enthusiasm to drive the sport forward.
  • Experience of working with voluntary and statutory sectors and community groups.
  • Experience of working with different organisations and people at a variety of levels to influence and drive initiatives forward.
  • The ability to work remotely, travelling between sites within a large region, often including evenings and weekends.

It is essential that the post holder has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong planning and organisational skills. The successful candidate must either live within, be willing to relocate to an area within or reside within travelling distance of the boundaries of the British Cycling Yorkshire Region.
