We would like to thanks our partners for supporting the 2012 British Cycling National Road Race Championships.

“Ryedale District Council is delighted to be working with British Cycling and other partners to bring the best cyclists in the country to Ampleforth.

“The National Cycling Championships will provide a unique opportunity for both local people and visitors to the area to sample all that Ryedale has to offer as well as enjoying the very best of road racing.

“Cycling continues to increase in popularity over the past few years and is now seen by Government  as a way to improve the health of the Nation and ease traffic congestion.

“The success of British riders and Teams at international  level now means that Britain is one of the top cycling Nations in the World with some of the best  riders in the world expected to compete in this event –the last major competition before the Olympics.

“It will be a fantastic day out for all the family.”
