This year the Yorkshire Regional Board have taken a big step and have organised a womens only race for the Yorkshire Regional Road Race Championship.
Unlike recent years, entrants will be able to race alongside other women and not having to mix with the juniors and master men, which I’m sure you’ll agree will be a much better event and produce a worthy winner. The event will be run on the Epworth circuit which is flat with no major climbs. Currently entries are very low and although we want to support womens cycling, we would like more entries to be able to offer a good prize list and a viable race. There are British Cycling medals for the top 3 and the winner will receive a trophy to keep for one year.
We as a region are leading on this, so please spread the word so we can boost the rider numbers. There are no other regional races on this date as all regions have their championships on the same date.
Entries are open to Yorkshire E1234 licence holders.
Many thanks to those who have already entered. Here’s a link to enter:
Again, please spread the word your club/team mates, cycling contacts and on social media. There are no entries on the day as this is a championship event, entries close on Monday 11th May.
